Snake Canyon Tour

This is a perfect day to get the best from both worlds: Oman’s wild nature with world-class adventure and the country’s rich culture.

This tour takes place in the heart of Western Hajar Mountains, at the famous Snake Canyon.

After kitting up and a safety briefing, we enter the winding canyon with its 100m walls towering over us. As we descend, expect to scramble, slide, climb over boulders and hang off the rope, as the instructor lowers you in more challenging sections. The second half of the canyon is usually full of water and offers a nice way to refresh in the freshwater pools.

A final hike through the boulder valley gets us back to your car, where you enjoy a lunch.

You fly in to Muscat on Saturday and leave the next Saturday as per your itinerary.  Two hotel night with breakfast in Muscat are included.

The expedition starts on Sunday morning from your hotel in Muscat and ends on Wednesday afternoon in the same hotel.

Through the duration of your trip, you will cover 1.340 kilometers in 6 days, on rocky terrain, deserts, beaches, wadis and steep unpaved mountain paths. The driving is possible regardless of experience, as our guide will help from years of experience driving off-road.

All cars are equipped with a solar 8-liter shower. You have to fill the shower with water yourself. Please be aware that the campsites are in the nature. There will be no toilets available, however we will provide toilet chairs. Toilet paper, wetties, tissues will be provided in the cars, however you can bring your own accessories.

There will be no soap, shampoo etc. Please bring your own. There is a shower tent available however most guests prefer to take the shower behind their car. Our recommendation is to shower in the evening when the water is still warm from the day. The mobile showers are filled up with water every day during the ride.

At the 5 camp-sites a cook will prepare all breakfast and dinners. Lunch will be provided during the trip. All camp-sites are in the nature without facilities for warm water and toilets.  Guests are welcome to assist the cook; however, this is not required.

During the off-road trip non-alcoholic beverages, coffee and tea will be included and provided during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased at the airport on arrival and carried on the trip.
